Do 4 years old children NEED to go to school?
I am so confused. Here I am in Malaysia where most children start going to kindergarten at 5 years old. Yet where I came from (Singapore), most children start learning as early as 2 years old. I sent my son when he was 3 to a nursery last year. But this year due to financial instability and extreme time constraint, i decided to put his learning to a temporary halt. This however has caused a uneasiness for my mother as she's scared that her grandchild will not have good education. I feel so helpless and useless.

4 years of motherhood
In 2 months time, my first child will be 4 years old, while my second child will be into his 21st month of life. But I still could NOT say I enjoy motherhood. I really don't. But being in the motherhood trap also means that I could not and will not ever wish that they just disappear from my life because if that really happens, I'm afraid that i would either go out of mind or out of life. I just don't understand how people can go through life with so much chaos that children bring. Why can't I be a better mother?

Men cannot babysit small children?
I have just made a crucial decision- I have to quit my part-time job because my husband is giving up the task of babysitting his 2 sons while I'm not around for that twice weekly, 4 hour per session job. It's really sad and quite unbelievable that a man could not babysit his own flesh & blood! He just couldn't take the whining & crying anymore. And what about me? "Oh.... you're their mother. OF COURSE you can handle it.", he says.

Fact: Pregnancy can put you in hospital
My sister-in-law who's now in her third month of pregnancy has just been warded in Serdang Hospital because she was very weak as she has not been eating. Everytime she eats she will vomit. So she choose not to eat. Is this really what motherhood is all about? I can't help but wonder why on earth does she want to be pregnant again ( she already has two daughters) when she already experienced the exact same thing throughout her previous pregnancies?

Full-time motherhood extremely demanding
After putting a lot of thought, I decided that I have to reject a RM75/hour job because my responsibilities as a mother is already too much to handle. But the most important reason is still the fact that I'm not strong enough to risk putting my children in a childcare centre. I'm just not sure if they could survive 8 hrs without me. If only my mum would babysit her grandchildren. Her own flesh and blood. Unfortunately, she's not the type who would GLADly offer her service. She keeps saying that she's too old to babysit. Is 6o years really too old? Well, I'd ask myself, would I babysit MY grandchildren when I'll be 60 years? Maybe, maybe not. Hmmm.....
