Men cannot babysit small children?
I have just made a crucial decision- I have to quit my part-time job because my husband is giving up the task of babysitting his 2 sons while I'm not around for that twice weekly, 4 hour per session job. It's really sad and quite unbelievable that a man could not babysit his own flesh & blood! He just couldn't take the whining & crying anymore. And what about me? "Oh.... you're their mother. OF COURSE you can handle it.", he says.

Fact: Pregnancy can put you in hospital
My sister-in-law who's now in her third month of pregnancy has just been warded in Serdang Hospital because she was very weak as she has not been eating. Everytime she eats she will vomit. So she choose not to eat. Is this really what motherhood is all about? I can't help but wonder why on earth does she want to be pregnant again ( she already has two daughters) when she already experienced the exact same thing throughout her previous pregnancies?

Full-time motherhood extremely demanding
After putting a lot of thought, I decided that I have to reject a RM75/hour job because my responsibilities as a mother is already too much to handle. But the most important reason is still the fact that I'm not strong enough to risk putting my children in a childcare centre. I'm just not sure if they could survive 8 hrs without me. If only my mum would babysit her grandchildren. Her own flesh and blood. Unfortunately, she's not the type who would GLADly offer her service. She keeps saying that she's too old to babysit. Is 6o years really too old? Well, I'd ask myself, would I babysit MY grandchildren when I'll be 60 years? Maybe, maybe not. Hmmm.....

Follow-up checkup @ PPUM today
No. I'm not the one undergoing checkup. It's my 3 and a half year old eldest son. 2 years ago he had to undergo surgery to correct his undescended testicles @ PPUM (Pusat Perubatan University Malaya). The result today is that his left testicle had descend to its normal position. However, his right testicle is still in descending process. Anyway, still have to go for checkup annually. Hope he will grow up to be a normal person in all aspects.

Is It possible to manage Career, Motherhood & Life?
So far I've only manage to handle a part-time job, suck at motherhood, and lead a boring yet stressful life.

Home- based babysitter or Registered childcare?
Since I started my part-time job (twice weekly @ 4 hour/session ) about a month ago, life has been a bit unstable for us especially the kids. . It’s what I call “adjustment period”. But I’m very sure that things will go smoothly as soon as we get used to the routine. So far, the hubby looks after the kids when I’m not available. He’s self employed so we do have the luxury of flexible working hours. However this is never done without a sigh. So I’ve been thinking hard of finding an alternative caregiver though I do know that nothing beats having the parents themselves taking care of their own flesh & blood. And my children don’t have any complain of having their father’s company though they do prefer me over him. Like I said, it’s just a matter of time and getting adjusted.
Cost wise - Both babysitter & childcare charge around RM250 per month for one baby. But in terms of quality and service, I'm still gathering the infos. Check out www.kindergarten2u.com.

Dilemma of the day
My two sons are taking their afternoon nap. So what do I do on this free time? Take a nap too, ironing clothes, watch tv or my favourite pastime- surfing the net? You guessed it! I'm surfing the net AND finally creating my own blog. Wish I have more of this "me" time.
